On December 8, 2016, police in Kansas City, Missouri, were dispatched to a residence in the 3900 block of Chestnut Avenue following reports of a shooting. Inside the home, officers discovered the bodies of two men who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as 54-year-old Jonathan Echols and 52-year-old Freddie Jones.
