In the early evening of Saturday, February 7, 2026, the life of 37-year-old Jessie Ross III was tragically cut short in Kansas City, Missouri. Police were called to a convenience store in the 8200 block of Troost Avenue shortly after 5:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers found Ross suffering from what was initially described as severe head trauma.
First responders at the scene immediately began administering life-saving measures before he was rushed to a
local hospital. Despite their efforts, Jessie Ross succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The nature of his injuries was later confirmed to be a gunshot wound, which led authorities to upgrade their death investigation to a homicide.
