In the early evening of March 19, 2025, Derrick Lamb, a 49-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in Baltimore, Maryland. The incident occurred at approximately 5:32 p.m. in the 5400 block of Park Heights Avenue. When police officers arrived at the scene to investigate reports of a shooting, they discovered Lamb suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later at a local hospital.
Shortly after the discovery of Lamb, another shooting victim, a 59-year-old male, arrived at an area hospital for treatment. This individual had also sustained a gunshot wound in the same block of Park Heights Avenue and was reported to be in stable condition. Investigators are currently working to determine if the two shootings are connected.
As of now, the Baltimore Police Department has not released any information regarding potential suspects or a motive for the shooting. The investigation into Derrick Lamb's death is ongoing, and authorities have not made any arrests in connection with the homicide. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation.
