In the early hours of Christmas Eve in 2024, the life of 17-year-old Kevin Morrison, a Black male, was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting. The incident occurred at approximately 1:01 a.m. in the 1900 block of North Forest Park Avenue in Northwest Baltimore, at the Kernan Gardens Apartments. Morrison was one of two victims in a double shooting that also left a 21-year-old man injured.
Emergency medical services responded to the scene and transported both victims to local hospitals.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Kevin Morrison was pronounced dead from his gunshot wounds. At the time of his death, Morrison was a student at Patterson High School and had plans to enroll in the Job Corps the following month, with his 18th birthday also approaching.
The Baltimore Police Department is actively investigating the homicide. As of late December 2024, authorities had not released any information regarding a suspect or suspects in the shooting, and no arrests had been made. The case remains ongoing as detectives continue to seek information from the public.
Morrison's family has been left devastated by the sudden and violent loss of the teenager. His mother and grandmother have publicly expressed their profound grief and their desperate desire for answers and justice for Kevin. They have lamented the pervasive issue of gun violence affecting the city's youth and have appealed for anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. A reward of up to $8,000 has been offered for information leading to an arrest.
