In the late evening of Thursday, January 30, 2025, a burst of gunfire shattered the night at the intersection of Morton Street and West Selden Street in Mattapan. When police and paramedics arrived around 10:30 p.m., they found 18-year-old Leroy S. Ryner of Roxbury suffering from gunshot wounds. The Black / African American male was quickly transported to Boston Medical Center, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced deceased.
