On July 27, 2022, a tragic incident occurred in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, resulting in the death of 15-year-old Curtis Ashford Jr. The incident took place near the Ellington Playground, where Curtis was playing basketball with his friends. Boston Police were called to the scene just before 7:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found the wounded teenager and immediately rushed him to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
