On the evening of August 12, 2024, Leudis Mejia Sanchez, a 49-year-old Hispanic male from Dorchester, Massachusetts, was fatally shot in what authorities have described as a home invasion. The incident occurred at approximately 6:42 PM inside a residence located at 5 Trent Street in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. When police responded to a report of two people shot, they discovered Mejia Sanchez and another adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both men were
immediately transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Tragically, Leudis Mejia Sanchez was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Nearly a month later, the investigation led to the apprehension of two suspects. On September 9, 2024, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit arrested 18-year-old Manuel Guerrero of Dorchester. Two days later, on September 11, Homicide Unit detectives arrested a second suspect, 17-year-old Luis Mario Perez, also from Dorchester. Both individuals were taken into custody on warrants and now face multiple charges, including murder, home invasion, armed assault with intent to murder, and carrying a firearm without a license. Following their arrests, both suspects were expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
