Authorities in Ruston, Louisiana, are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, in the parking lot of Y2 Kuts Barbershop, located at 302 South Farmerville Street. The incident resulted in the death of Deontrell Marquis Hunter, a 30-year-old African American man from Ruston. Five other individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries, described as superficial wounds, and were transported to Northern Louisiana Medical Center, some by private vehicles.
