On the evening of February 8, 2025, a tragic shooting occurred in the 600 block of Eastview Circle in Americus, Georgia. Among the victims was 19-year-old African American male Jotavis Roshon Leverette, who sustained critical injuries and later succumbed to them on February 10, 2025. The incident also claimed the life of 5-year-old African American girl Peyton Brielle Roberts and left a third individual with non-life-threatening injuries.
