In the afternoon hours of January 26, 2025, a tragedy unfolded in Southwest Washington, D.C., that cut short the life of 14-year-old Myron Smith, an African American male. The incident began around 2:28 p.m. in the 4000 block of South Capitol Street, Southwest, where Smith was shot multiple times.
