In the early morning hours of July 20, 2018, a tragic event unfolded on the 300 block of Rhode Island Avenue in Northeast Washington, D.C. James Tyrone Eaton, a 26-year-old Black male, was engaged in conversation with a group of men when his life was abruptly cut short. At approximately 3:43 a.m., authorities were called to the scene near the Rhode Island Avenue Metro station, where they discovered Eaton suffering from gunshot wounds.
