A tragic incident unfolded in Macon, Georgia, on the night of May 12, 2025, when 39-year-old Jarvis Kentral Curtis was found fatally shot at Freedom Park. Deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a person down near the lake in the 3300 block of Roff Avenue just after 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Curtis, a Black male, suffering from a single gunshot wound.
