On a late Wednesday evening in Washington, D.C., the sound of gunfire pierced the night, leading to the discovery of a fatally wounded man. The incident, which unfolded on April 9, 2025, in the 3500 block of 22nd Street, Southeast, claimed the life of 29-year-old Jamal Kingsberry, a resident of Temple Hills, Maryland. Responding to reports of a shooting at approximately 11:20 p.m., Seventh District officers arrived at the scene to find Kingsberry unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot
wounds.
Emergency medical personnel from D.C. Fire and EMS were dispatched to the location and attempted life-saving measures. Despite their efforts, Jamal Kingsberry succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating the case as a homicide.
