In the early evening of March 7, 2023, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace in the 2700 block of Bruce Place in Southeast Washington, D.C. When the chaos subsided, 23-year-old Dana Faulkner, a male resident of Southeast D.C. and a new father, was found suffering from a fatal gunshot wound to the back of his head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
