In the late hours of March 14, 2025, the life of 35-year-old Myron Meyers, a Black male from Hartford, Connecticut, was tragically cut short. Just before 11:30 p.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the night in the area of 2121 Main Street, prompting a ShotSpotter alert and numerous 911 calls that drew Hartford police to the parking lot of the American Legion. There, they found Meyers unresponsive in the driver's seat of his Infiniti G37, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
