The night was shattered by the sound of gunfire around 8:30 p.m. in the Fountain Heights area, prompting multiple calls to 911. The reports all told a similar story: someone had been shot in the 1400 block of 12th Avenue North.
When police arrived, they found Gibson unresponsive on the pavement.
