On February 1, 2025, 18-year-old African American male Deshaun Labraunt Lewis was fatally shot outside Nash Bar-B-Que on 12th Avenue Northwest in Decatur, Alabama. Police responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 12:12 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found Deshaun Lewis suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Decatur Morgan Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
