In the early morning hours of Saturday, February 1, 2025, a burst of gunfire in the parking lot of a barbecue restaurant on 12th Avenue Northwest in Decatur, Alabama, brought a tragic end to the life of 18-year-old Deshaun Labraunt Lewis. Officers from the Decatur Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 12:12 a.m. and discovered Lewis suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to Decatur Morgan Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
