In the early morning hours of February 15, 2025, the life of 14-year-old Jamarj Acoff was tragically cut short by gun violence in Selma, Alabama. An African American male, Jamarj was a freshman at Selma High School, a member of the class of 2028, and known for his friendly nature. The fatal incident occurred at approximately 1:55 a.m. in the 1400 block of Weaver Street. When Selma police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the young teen had already succumbed to his injuries.
