On February 15, 2025, 14-year-old African American male Jamarj Ledarious Acoff tragically lost his life to gun violence in Selma, Alabama. The incident occurred around 1:55 a.m. in the 1400 block of Weaver Street. Upon arrival, Selma police officers discovered the young victim deceased at the scene. The Selma Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division promptly initiated an investigation into the fatal shooting.
