John Sovea, a 25-year-old man, was tragically killed on November 27, 1903. His death was part of a series of violent crimes committed by Peter Neidermeyer, a convicted serial killer. Neidermeyer, along with his accomplices Gustave Marx, Harry van Dine, and Emil Roeski, was responsible for multiple murders across Illinois and Indiana. Sovea was one of eight victims murdered by Neidermeyer and his associates during their crime spree.
