Lakota Renville, aged 22, was found dead on October 16, 2005, in Independence, Missouri. Her body was discovered in an open gravel lot near Pitcher Road, wrapped in a Southwestern-style blanket and carpet padding. She had been beaten and stabbed, and her body was found in an illegal dumping site. Lakota was originally from South Dakota and a member of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux tribe.
