In the spring of 1995, the life of Florence McCormick, a 28-year-old Black/African American woman and mother, was tragically cut short in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On April 24, 1995, her body was discovered in the basement of a vacant house. An investigation revealed she had been strangled, with a clothesline wrapped around her neck.
