On January 26, 2023, Jeanette Jimenez, a 59-year-old woman from Milwaukee, was shot and killed while attempting to intervene in a domestic violence incident. The shooting took place near the intersection of 15th and Becher streets on the city's south side. Witnesses reported that Jimenez tried to stop a violent altercation involving another individual when she was struck by gunfire. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
