In the early morning hours of February 21, 2025, the life of a 23-year-old Black transgender woman, Amyri Dior, was tragically cut short in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Police responded to a call about a shooting at a residence near 95th and Brown Deer around 12:30 a.m. and found Dior in a bedroom, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her death was quickly ruled a homicide, prompting an investigation into the circumstances that led to this violent act.
