In Milwaukee, a deeply troubled family history culminated in a tragic and public death. Ashley Hudson, a 30-year-old African-American mother, was killed during a violent altercation with her own siblings, a horrific event that was broadcast on Facebook Live. The dispute, which reportedly began over social media posts, escalated into a physical confrontation on a sidewalk near MLK Drive and Vliet Street on a Monday night.
The conflict turned violent when Ashley's sister, Aaliyah Frison,
and another juvenile family member allegedly began beating her with a baseball bat and a speaker. In an attempt to defend herself or escape, Ashley retrieved a knife. At this point, her 15-year-old brother, Hezile Frison, who was present during the assault, produced a handgun. As onlookers pleaded with him not to shoot, he advanced on his sister as she backed away. He then shot her from point-blank range. Ashley stumbled a few steps before collapsing on the street corner, her final moments captured on video for all to see. The long history of animosity within the family had reached its fatal conclusion.
In the aftermath, police made several arrests. Hezile Frison, the teenage brother, was taken into custody and charged as an adult with first-degree intentional homicide. When informed of his sister's death, he reportedly showed no remorse. His 21-year-old sister, Aaliyah Frison, was also arrested and faced a charge of aggravated battery for her role in the initial beating. The family matriarch, Tara Hudson, was also implicated, charged with misdemeanor obstructing an officer. While friends and family at the scene claimed she drove her children to the confrontation and may have provided the weapon, she denied these accusations, stating she arrived separately to try and de-escalate the situation.
The investigation brought to light a disturbing past of domestic turmoil. Court records revealed that Ashley had previously filed restraining orders against both her mother and her sister, expressing a genuine fear for her life. In one petition, she wrote that she was afraid her mother was going to kill her. The tragic event left a family shattered, with one daughter dead and three other family members facing criminal charges, leaving Ashley's own children without their mother.
