Fannie Mae Elder, a 15-year-old African American girl, died on March 23, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia. Initially, her death was attributed to pneumonia while under the care of her stepmother, Roberta Elder. However, suspicions arose following the subsequent death of her father, Reverend William M.
