On March 19, 1984, in Queens, New York, authorities discovered the bodies of 29-year-old Ira Adams and his 21-year-old live-in girlfriend, Karen Jefferson. Adams was found shot to death inside a stolen U-Haul truck, while Jefferson was located in their nearby residence, also fatally shot in the head and chest.
