Anita Smith, a 23-year-old resident of Queens, New York, tragically lost her life on May 24, 2000, in what became known as the Wendy's massacre. On that fateful evening, Anita was working her shift at a Wendy's fast-food restaurant in Flushing, Queens. She was the only female employee on duty and was stationed at the cash register.
