On April 23, 1987, Glenn Sutton, a 62-year-old white male, and his wife Rachel were found dead in their Athens, Georgia home. Both had been fatally stabbed during a burglary. Glenn Sutton had a distinguished career as a finance professor at the University of Georgia and had served as chairman of the finance division. He was also appointed to the U.S. Tariff Commission by President Dwight Eisenhower in 1954, later becoming its chairman under President Richard Nixon.
