On April 11, 2023, Ray'mon Sims, a 22-year-old man from Youngstown, Ohio, was fatally shot while driving near Tod Lane on the North Side of the city. The incident occurred at approximately 2:46 p.m., and Sims was later pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Following the shooting, the vehicle containing Sims and another man crashed into the front porch of a home at the intersection of Guadalupe Avenue and Alameda Avenue. Both men fled the vehicle and ran to nearby Crandal ...
