Tolita Brown, a 36-year-old African American woman, was found dead on September 2, 1981. Her death was the result of ligature strangulation, a method used by her killer, Jesus Aguilera. Aguilera, a Cuban-born serial killer, arrived in the United States in May 1981 and quickly embarked on a spree of murders and rapes.
