Ruth Burke, a 43-year-old white woman, was tragically murdered in April 1965. Her death was a result of a violent crime that also claimed the life of her 13-year-old daughter, Carol Burke. Ruth and Carol were both shot, and the circumstances surrounding their deaths were deeply disturbing.
