Jean Reyner, a 25-year-old Caucasian female, tragically lost her life on May 15, 1980, in New York City. Her death was a result of a brutal murder committed by Richard Cottingham, a notorious serial killer known as the 'Torso Killer.' Jean Reyner was tortured and strangled to death in a hotel room. Following the murder, Cottingham set the room on fire, a method he had used in previous killings to destroy evidence.
