In the early hours of a Monday morning, the quiet of a Wilkinsburg neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On October 24, 2022, 58-year-old Leodis Heards, an African American male, was found inside his vehicle on Maple Street, having been shot multiple times. First responders arrived at the scene around 12:15 a.m. and pronounced him dead.
