On the morning of April 14, 2018, a violent home invasion unfolded at an apartment complex in Hazelwood, Missouri, claiming the life of 24-year-old Chuckie Marion. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Knollwood Parkway Drive, where Marion was located when an intruder forcibly entered the residence. Police reports indicate that the suspect gained access to the apartment by breaking a bedroom window around 12:45 a.m., disrupting the quiet of the overnight hours.
Once inside the
apartment, the intruder, identified by authorities as 25-year-old Brandon Williams, continued his aggression by kicking in a bathroom door to reach Marion. In the ensuing confrontation, Williams fired multiple shots at Marion. Despite being under attack, Marion was armed and managed to return fire, striking Williams in the leg. Authorities arrived to find that Marion had sustained fatal injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brandon Williams was subsequently taken into custody and treated for the gunshot wound he received during the exchange. Prosecutors charged him with second-degree murder, first-degree burglary, and armed criminal action in connection with Marion's death. Investigators noted that Williams’ ex-girlfriend was present in the apartment at the time of the break-in, providing witness accounts that helped piece together the sequence of events leading to the fatal shooting. A cash-only bond of $250,000 was set for Williams following his arrest.
