On August 2, 2024, 18-year-old Jordan Nathan Ross Geiger, a recent graduate of Freedom Area High School, was fatally shot in Ohio Township, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Giant Eagle off Camp Horne Road, where Geiger had arranged to meet individuals for the sale of a firearm.
