On July 23, 2011, 16-year-old Maria Lynn Ta was tragically killed in a mass shooting at Forum Roller World in Grand Prairie, Texas. The incident occurred during a birthday party for Tan Do's son, where he opened fire on his estranged wife, Trini Do, and her family members. Lynn Ta, along with her sister Michelle Ta , brother Hien Ta , and sister-in-law Thuy Nguyen , were among the victims. Tan Do, who was 35 years old, also died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
