Darius Matthew Edwards, a 22-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on April 7, 2016, in Hempstead, Texas. Edwards, a former student and football player at Prairie View A&M University, was attending an off-campus party when he was shot multiple times. The incident occurred during an altercation at the party, and Edwards was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to a nearby hospital.
