Upon arrival, they discovered 36-year-old Adrian Barbosa, a resident of New Braunfels, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts by the officers, Barbosa was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an investigation, authorities identified 24-year-old New Braunfels resident, Isaac Mesa Jr., as the primary suspect in the shooting. Mesa was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of murder. He was booked into the Guadalupe County Jail, with bond set at $1 million. Adrian Barbosa, known affectionately as "Lil A," was born on December 17, 1986, in New Braunfels, Texas. He is survived by his children: Audriana Rodriguez, Braden Romero, Jayce Wollenzin, Sophia Barbosa, and Valentina Barbosa; his brothers, Roberto Navarro and Brian M. Navarro; and his sisters, Roberta Paredez, Karina Maldonado, and Roseanne Navarro. Barbosa was remembered as a humble and original individual, respected by many, with a deep passion for the gym and a profound love for his children. Funeral services were held on September 14 and 15, 2023, in New Braunfels.
