James Meza, a male of Hispanic ethnicity, died on June 15, 2021, in Houston, Texas. He was 56 years old at the time of his death. The incident occurred in the 13600 block of Sunstream Court in west Harris County. Initially, Taneil Robertson, Meza's girlfriend, told deputies that Meza had accidentally shot himself while playing with a gun. However, during the investigation, Robertson changed her story multiple times before eventually admitting that she had shot Meza following an argument.
