On the evening of April 23, 2012, a promising young life was tragically cut short in Kansas City, Missouri. Ashton L. Oguinn, a 20-year-old male student at Penn Valley Community College, was fatally shot. The incident occurred at approximately 10:35 p.m. when officers from the Kansas City Missouri Police Department were dispatched to 3320 South Benton following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Oguinn lying deceased on the sidewalk, having sustained gunshot wounds.
