On April 5, 2014, Alonzo Thomas IV, a 20-year-old resident of Kansas City, Missouri, was shot and killed outside a home near Wayne Avenue. Alonzo, also known as "Zoe," had stepped outside to take a phone call when the shooting occurred. Witnesses reported seeing him speak to individuals in a white van or truck that had a sliding passenger door and rusted rims. Shortly after the interaction, shots were fired, striking Alonzo.
