Sollie Lee Harris, also known as Samuel Horace, was a 48-year-old male of African American ethnicity who tragically lost his life on October 21, 2017, in Houston, Texas. Harris was critically wounded in a shooting incident that occurred on August 21, 2017, at 8830 Long Point Drive. The incident began as a carjacking, where Harris was robbed of his vehicle by two unknown male suspects. Following the robbery, the suspects shot Harris, and he was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital by the Houston Fire Department paramedics. Despite medical efforts, Harris succumbed to his injuries on October 23, 2017, and an autopsy determined that he died as a result of complications associated with the gunshot wound.
The suspects in this case were described as two black males, aged between 20 and 30 years. The Houston Police Department's Homicide Division, along with Officer K. McDonald and Sergeant H. Garcia, led the investigation. The case remains open, and the HPD has urged anyone with additional information to come forward and contact the Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers.
