On the afternoon of December 19, 2013, a violent incident unfolded in the 2800 block of Myrtle Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. Around 4:00 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of a shooting in the residential area. The victim was identified as 26-year-old Jeremy Isaac Christopher Jamerson. His death occurred just days before the Christmas holiday, prompting his family to schedule services at the Golden Gate Funeral Chapel. Known affectionately to his relatives as 'Big Jay,' his passing added to the list of homicides in the city that year.
