In the summer of 2015, a life was tragically cut short in Kansas City, Missouri. On the evening of August 5th, 18-year-old Tamerick Riley was at an apartment complex in the 5700 block of East 96th Place. As he was walking into one of the buildings, a suspect reportedly opened fire from a stairwell, striking Riley.
Police responded to a call about the shooting around 7 p.m. and discovered two men with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Tragically, Tamerick Riley succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The second victim was taken into surgery, and his condition was not publicly disclosed.
