John Jr. Owens, aged 31, was shot and killed on October 25, 2017, in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred in the early morning hours at Independence Avenue and Elmwood. Responding officers found Owens on the street, suffering from gunshot wounds. A vehicle associated with the victim was also located nearby, containing a witness who was transported to police headquarters and provided a statement.
