Born on November 12, 1970, in Bronx, New York, Luis was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was deeply cherished by his family, including his parents, Samuel and Minerva Cosme, his children, Luis Cosme Jr., Kevin Cosme, Emilio Cosme, Ashley Pelinghelli, and Caterina Cosme, as well as his siblings and grandchildren.
On the evening of October 30,
2019, Luis Eddie Cosme intervened in a domestic disturbance involving his ex-wife, Estela Cosme, and her then-boyfriend, Bryan Jamal Dunn, a 25-year-old African American male from Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, District of Columbia. The incident occurred at the 2100 block of Reese Creek Road in Killeen. During the altercation, Dunn shot Luis Eddie Cosme, who succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke at 9:33 p.m.
Following the shooting, Bryan Jamal Dunn forced Estela Cosme into his vehicle and fled the area. He later released her in Round Rock, Texas. Dunn was subsequently arrested and charged with murder. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke, who set his bond at $1,000,000. Dunn was held in the Bell County Jail.
