Denzell Roderick Jordan, a 30-year-old African American man from Killeen, Texas, tragically passed away on September 29, 2022. Known affectionately as "Sleepy the Barber," Denzell was a beloved barber and devoted father to his young son, Kevyn. He was well-known in his community for his kindness and generosity, often providing free haircuts to the homeless.
On the night of his death, Denzell was involved in a domestic incident at his residence in the 600 block of Leo Lane.
Killeen Police were called to the scene around 2:38 a.m. and found Denzell suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite their efforts to save him, Denzell was pronounced dead at 3:30 a.m. An autopsy was ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
Following a thorough investigation, Killeen Police arrested 40-year-old Antonio Bernard Heath on charges of murder, tampering with evidence, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Heath was believed to have shot Denzell during the domestic incident and fled the scene before police arrived. He was later found and taken into custody, with a bond set at $1 million.
The case remains under active investigation, and the community continues to mourn the loss of Denzell Roderick Jordan, whose impact on those around him was profound and lasting.
