Joe Dominguez, a 28-year-old Hispanic male, tragically lost his life on July 26, 2020, in Dallas, Texas. The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. in the 700 block of Sabine Street. According to witnesses, Joe Dominguez was involved in a road rage incident with another driver. The altercation escalated, and the driver of a white late model Dodge Avenger shot at Dominguez's vehicle, striking him.
Dominguez was transported to a local hospital by Dallas Fire and Rescue, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Dallas Police Department launched an investigation into the fatal shooting. Detectives were able to obtain video footage of the suspect's vehicle and released a description to the public. On July 27, officers conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle and identified the driver as 19-year-old Vincent Harris. Harris voluntarily went to the Dallas Police Headquarters for an interview, during which he waived his Miranda rights but denied involvement in the shooting. He mentioned that the vehicle he was driving was registered to his sister, although he was the primary driver. Harris requested his attorney, and the interview was subsequently terminated.
Further investigation led to a search warrant for Harris' phone records, which revealed that his phone was in close proximity to the location of the shooting at the time it occurred. On August 6, Harris was charged with first-degree murder and transported to the Dallas County jail. His bond had not been set at the time of the report.
