On a tragic Wednesday night in Kansas City, 22-year-old Arthur W. Stafford Jr. was fatally wounded in a double shooting. The incident occurred on March 11, 2015, in the 3900 block of East 31st Street, near Mersington Avenue. Police were called to the scene around 9 p.m. where they found two victims.
Stafford was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. A second individual was also struck by a bullet during the event but was fortunate to only suffer a graze wound. In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement appealed to the public for any information that could lead to an understanding of the events that transpired and the identification of those responsible.
Tragically, the violence that touched the Stafford family was not an isolated incident. Just a month after Arthur's death, his younger brother, 20-year-old Dominique Stafford, was also shot and killed. Both brothers were known in the local community as rap artists affiliated with Duced Out Records. While an arrest and conviction were eventually made in the murder of Dominique Stafford, Arthur's case has remained unsolved. Despite the passage of time, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with his death. The police have continued to ask for anyone with information to come forward.
