Dennis Charles Doty, a 35-year-old police officer with the Riverside Police Department, tragically lost his life on May 13, 1982, while performing his duties. Officer Doty, along with his partner Officer Philip Trust, was attempting to serve an arrest warrant on a convicted bank robbery suspect who had failed to report for his 13-year prison sentence.
